Quick Summary |
 |
CSS:RPG Mod is a role playing (level-based) server-side plugin
for Counter-Strike: Source. It is not just another WC3/Superhero
mod. It's based off the UT2K4RPG Mod for Unreal Tournament 2004.
As you kill your opponents, you gain Experience. Eventually when
you have reached your experience quota, you gain a new Level.
This means you can buy Upgrades which give you an advantage
over your opponent.
CSS:RPG Mod allows you to buy the Upgrades you want or Sell
them for different Upgrades. Each Upgrade has a higher Level.
So for example, Regeneration Level 2 will give you two health
points every second as opposed to one health point every second
for Regeneration Level 1. All player data is saved into a SQLite
Database so there is no need to setup any type of Remote Database.
CSS:RPG is also highly customizable with variables that change
the plugin effectively immediately after it has been set. The
source code for CSS:RPG is made publicly available under the
zlib/libpng open source license for people who want to port the
plugin to their own Half-Life 2 mod or just want to learn how
to create a plugin.
See the About page for more information.

Help Wanted! |
 |
| Mon Jan 14, 2008 - 9:30 pm |

| I'm sure you've all noticed how updates to CSS:RPG have become slower and slower. Unfortunately this is just due to the fact that I've become increasingly busy with school and even more recently a new full-time job. I'm looking for any volunteers who would be interested in taking on some responsibility of progressing CSS:RPG. This doesn't mean I'm leaving the scene or CSS:RPG to its own fate. I'll still continue to put in as much work as I can, but currently I don't have enough time to pump out new updates. If anyone is interested, you may reply here or contact me via email or MSN from "e x c e s s (at) g m a i l . c o m" | | [ Posted by SeLfkiLL | 4 Comments ] |

CSS:RPG v1.0.5 100XL |
 |
| Tue Jul 24, 2007 - 12:56 pm |
 |
There has been many requests to increase the max level barrier on all Upgrades. So I've done just that. CSS:RPG v1.0.5 100XL (100 Extra Limit) is an untested version of CSS:RPG v1.0.5 with all maximum level barriers increased to 100. This means that you can change all cssrpg_*_maxlevel CVARS to 100. However, doing so may result in unexpected behavior from the plugin and may even crash your server. I am not responsible for this. Have fun!

CSS:RPG 1.0.5 Coming Soon |
 |
| Mon Nov 27, 2006 - 10:36 am |
 |
| The end of my first semester's worth of college is at its final weeks. Starting December 16 I will have a month off before my next semester begins. During this time I will try to accommodate all necessary requests and add in some new features (including new Upgrades) for CSS:RPG 1.0.5. So if there is anything that has been really bugging you about CSS:RPG (issues or requests), these upcoming weeks would be the best time to complain about them. | | [ Posted by SeLfkiLL | 9 Comments ] |

Lack of updates |
 |
| Sat Sep 16, 2006 - 3:48 pm |
 |
For those of you who have noticed the lack of more frequent updates to CSS:RPG, I would like to explain on my behalf why progress has been cumbersome.
When I started the CSS:RPG project about one year ago, I was still in high school and being the final year, I had more leisure time to spend on progressing CSS:RPG foreward. However, starting in August, I started my freshman year of college (for those of you curious, I'm going to University of Colorado at Denver). This has been quite a transition in workload as once 7-hour days have become 12-hour days. And when I'm not at college, I'm at home with a pile of homework to do for college. Naturally, I have put college before my hobbies (otherwise I'd just be wasting $50,000) and so consequently CSS:RPG has been put on the backburner. Keep in mind, though, that I have not given up on CSS:RPG. Whenever I have time to work on CSS:RPG I will (especially on holidays and breaks), I am also trying to keep up with the community as much as possible to ensure all your questions, comments, and concerns are listened to and taken care of.
I thank those of you who have put their effort into maintaining CSS:RPG and the community. Without you, CSS:RPG would never be able to stay afloat. | | [ Posted by SeLfkiLL | 2 Comments ] |

CSS Update |
 |
| Thu Aug 24, 2006 - 7:05 pm |
 |
| It seems a recent update to Counter-Strike: Source has broken CSS:RPG (which I thought was impossible, but then again it broke every other plugin as well). I will be working on a solution to fix CSS:RPG so do not panic. | | [ Posted by SeLfkiLL | 14 Comments ] |
